It's a bit crippled though, unfortunately. No ability to change drawing scale on the fly...

I am wondering why I have not been prompted to download later versions of PC. I have PC8.02? What about 8.03 thru 8.07?
How do I find new versions?

I'll be keeping an eye out for the update. I've had PC8 for a while on my wife's MacBook and used it only for DWG translations as my machine was PPC. Just got a new MacBook Pro for myself and moved PC8 to it this week. I've been VERY frustrated at the lack of the Status window. When I'm not clicking in it, I seem to be looking at it for layer or other information. Don't need the mountains, though.
BTW the MBP is beautiful, but it is a little bigger than the PB it replaced. The LED backlit display is a great improvement over the PB and will go VERY bright. Glossy screen has not been a problem for me.
C'mon Status Window - I'm waiting….

ES seems to have been stubborn in its posture about the Status Window, calling it 17 year old technology, and trying to convince us that it cannot be updated.
I remain puzzled over its omission in the final issue of PC8. _________________ John Cruet

I'm hoping this is real because I uninstalled version 8. I still have not gotten an email with the update information for 8.0.7…

Oops, I have to retract part of my thanks. The scale window is grayed out and unusable. But we're getting close. At least there's a window and you can change the nudge distance. _________________ Ed Jaworski

At least for now the status window is back with the two things I MUST have—the on screen scale and the nudge amount. I can now leave the toolbar closed and easily have access to these items. Now I can start using/testing version 8. Thanks ES!!!

I just updated to 8.07. Welcome back, Status Window!
I like the fact that I can switch layers by pressing a button. True "on-the-fly" working.
As the scale is noted in the toolbar, it's disabling in the Status window doesn't bother me. _________________ John Cruet

I agree -- thanks for the Status Window, now just waiting for the ability to change scales with it! |

| If I edit the name of PowerCADD 8 to PowerCADD 8.0.2 Intl, does that interfere with the Update utility recognising the application, and therefore stopping the update process from taking place? |

| David, you should contact engsw directly about that question, I'm dubious that you can spoof the updater, the most recent releases of PowerCADD use an unorthodox method of installation. |
